Financial Aid Opportunities

Financial Aid at the Ben Franklin Career Center is available to students
who qualify as follows:

  1. The Pell Grant program provides funds to students to help pay education-related expenses. Students applying must be admitted to the school and have a diploma or GED prior to submitting an application for financial aid. Final determination for eligibility and the amount of aid is determined by the U.S. Department of Education and is based upon economic need and school costs. Students successfully completing their program who meet Federal guidelines will not be reuired to repay any part of the Pell Grant. However, penalties may be imposed upon those who withdraw prior to successful completion of their programs.

  2. Students can receive only one Pell Grant per program. Additional grants
cannot be provided to continue in a program beyond its normal time frame.

  3. Additonal grants cannot be provided to continue in a program beyond
    its normal time frame.

  4. Other sources of financial aid are available through the following programs: Vocational Rehabilitation, Veteran's Administration, JTPA, TRA, Single Parents, and Workman's Compensation. Students interested in these sources must contact the sponsoring agency for information on how to apply and on specific qualifications.

  5. Thirteenth Year Free is available only to those graduating seniors who need an additional school year to complete their program. Students interested in this source of aid must contact the secondary counselor prior to graduation.
